And in a stir fry?

Sprouts, Poster Plant of Health Food, Can Pack Risks – NYTimes.com. I’ll ignore the health food claims and be nice: what exactly is the risk (in numbers) of buying and consuming sprouts? What’s remarkable about our factory food production system is the almost complete disappearance of spoilage and contamination. Back in the old days (30 years ago), you always cracked your eggs in a small dish first before putting it in your cooking. Why? Because eggs were frequently spoiled. How long has it been since you’ve found a spoiled egg? If you want to make an argument based on taste, I’ll agree with you. Free range chicken tastes so much better. It is also more likely (where are my numbers?) to make you sick.
