Short end of the happiness stick

A report on research looks at the extent to which happiness is genetic. Fairly well done – absolute percentages, decent explanation. It also notes racial differences, which can be tricky, but none the less may give you pause for thought.

  1. “In “Genes, Economics and Happiness”, a working paper from the University of Zurich’s Institute for Empirical Research in Economics, they conclude that about a third of the variation in people’s happiness is heritable” Does this mean I can blame 33% of my unhappiness on you?

  2. I think I’m worth well over 50% genetics and another %30 because of the environment I subjected you to!
