Why Science Majors Change Their Minds (It’s Just So Darn Hard). I once talked to someone in development who was involved in setting up refugee camps in Africa – as much as our good intentions are nice, it was the engineers who had to figure out the quickest way to get the camps up, maintain supply lines and all the other practical things that needed doing. There is a fine balance behind being prepared to do the math and encouraging creativity and risk – engineer schools need to do both.
