So, I might be wrong. The Fiscal Cliff bill got wide agreement in the Senate – we’ll see what the House does.
However, I thought a Tea Party senator, who voted against the deal, made a really decent point. While everyone’s congratulating themselves on “bipartisanship”, it’s that process that’s the problem. Yes, they made some compromises, but that’s the source of their problems. In order to achieve the compromise they put off, yet again, the really hard issues like deficit reduction, reforming the tax code and so on.
