I think it’s about 8:30 p. m. Los Angeles time. I’m sitting near the Air New Zealand gate and thinking about my morale dilemma. I’m exhausted. If I take my night time medications, which include a soporific, I’ll be dead to the world in an hour. However, I snore like a trucker and I’m not sure what will happen when I’m sleep sitting. On the other hand, if I don’t get some rest, they may have to take me off the airplane in a straight jacket.
I had a six hour wait in Calgary and a five hour wait in LA. I figured out that from the time I left Saskatoon this morning, to the time I get off the plane and go to the orientation meeting, I’ll have been traveling for 28 hours.
When we descended into LA, the sun was just going down. The whole city had a golden red glow. It’s a huge and, in that light, magical place.
