Where are you Ella?

It’s time to get back to blogging. I wish it was under better circumstances.

On October 1st, our cat Ella didn’t come back from her nightly romp. It’s now been almost three weeks. I suspect someone took her. We’ve done all the usual things in this situation. She does have a chip embedded under her fur, so she may be identified in the future.

We wanted Ella confined to our backyard and had installed the PetSafe system. Ella wore a collar that would warn her if she got close to a perimeter wire and shock her (the company calls it a “static correction”) if she went further. All summer it had been a battle to block the various ways she figured out how to defeat the system. When she disappeared she had once more made her escape.

Both Phoebe and I are heart sick.
